Sunshine Citrus Hand Scrub

Hello again!
Yes, it has been quite some time since we've posted on our blog.  We've been quite busy lately (yeah, yeah, we know... that's no excuse!)  But we have managed to find a little time to squeeze in a post for you today.

We have made an amazing Hand Scrub that we are sure you will enjoy!  We are offering it on our website for you to purchase AND we are also giving you the recipe right here today for you to make it yourselves!!  Whew-who!  Yep, we're feeling a bit spunky & generous today...   (and it's rainy and gloomy, boo!)  We must have Spring Fever!!

This recipe is will leave your hands super clean & moisturized without leaving your hands feeling oily or greasy.  We came up with the perfect measurements so that this wouldn't be an oily scrub.

Ok... Here goes:

This batch of Hand Scrub will make approximately 4 ounces of scrub.

Ingredients:

1 T. Virgin Coconut Oil
2 T. Mango or Shea Butter
1 tsp. Avocado Oil
1/8 tsp. Red Palm Oil
1/8 tsp. Vitamin E Oil (we use pure Vit. E oil so if you use a blended Vit. E oil, you may add more)
5 ounces of White Sugar (1/8 c. plus 1/2 c = 5 ounces)
1/8 c. plus 1 T. Ground Oatmeal
1/8 c. Cornmeal
Zest of 1/2 Orange (equals about 2 T.)
10 drops of Orange Essential Oil
5 drops of Vanilla Essential Oil (we use a pure Vanilla EO, not a blend. If you use a blend, add more)

Step 1:

Measure out your hard oils & butters and place them in a microwave safe glass container.  We microwave this at 50% power for about 2 minutes or until ingredients have melted.  Allow to slightly cool before adding to the rest of the ingredients.

Step 2:

Measure the remaining ingredients (excluding the Essential Oils) into a large bowl.  Pour melted oils/butter mixture into the rest of the ingredients and stir really, really well.  Once you have mixed the ingredients well, then add the Essential oils and once again, stir & mix really well.

Step 3:

Place this scrub in a glass container with lid for storage.

Step 4:

ENJOY!!

We hope that you have enjoyed this post.  And please, let us know how your scrub turns out!!

And Remember:  The sky is the limit on what recipe you can come up with by using different oils and/or butters.  Please feel free to "tweak" this recipe to your liking.

Thanks for reading & have a Happy Day!!
